The War Begins: Chernarus 2009 In the month of November 2009 the PMC UNIT 19 was contracted to assist in Chernarus against rebel Russian forces working with warlords in the region that had begun a destructive bombing and military campaign against the peaceful western populace of Chernarus. Moscows full involment is unknown at this time and the true cause of what led to this rise in escalations is sketchy. In conjunction with it's employer elements of UNIT 19 moved into the country to begin training and operations. There was no comment when we tried to reach the foreign press secretary about if and when further escalation of forces would be deployed to the area. Local goverment officials and hospitals have reported that most of the population has fled or feared worse dead or injured in the affected areas. We did manage to interview one member of UNIT 19 SPC. Miu when asked about his feelings on the war he replied. "I hope our precense here will help ensure the safety of the people and bring things back into order. But if there is one thing I really upset about is I miss my monster truck back home." Asked how that last part was related, he said "It's not... I just miss my damn monster truck you got a problem with that?" At that time we left as preparations were underway and we were ushered out. Back in Washington D.C. aids were meeting with the President to brief him and see if US involment would be necessary in Chernarus. US military precense has not been ruled out and is not currently deployed to the area. Current US forces in Sarhani have recently finished their withdrawal from that region after that war. England currently has a small contingent of forces in the Chernarus area that were stationed last year to help train locals and have now been drawn into the fighting. U.N. has recently declared that humanitarian aid be sent to the affected areas of Chernarus. Last week saw heavy fighting at the major port city of Elektrozadorsk which was occupied by Russian forces and were not letting shipments into the country. This has not only slowed important aid such as food and clothing but many essential services into the country such as medical supplies. U.N. also issued a request for immediate ceasing of hostilities on all sides. The following leaked cellphone image shows UNIT 19 in the theater along with BDR military units from Italy.
